Only the named renter or an additional driver written into the rental agreement. Letting an unlisted person drive is a breach of the agreement, and it removes the 40,000 THB damage cap - the renter then becomes fully liable.

On Koh Samui's public roads, which includes the sandy roads leading down to the island's hidden beaches, as long as the road is legally open to traffic. Off-road driving and steep mountain roads are not permitted, and neither is racing, towing, sub-renting or any illegal use.

The manual 4x4 system is for emergencies on soft ground only and must not be engaged on paved roads. Damage caused by using it improperly is charged to the renter.

You are covered. Every Jeep is fully insured, and your liability is capped at 40,000 THB per incident - whatever the damage and regardless of who is at fault. Samui Motors covers everything above that. The insurance also covers you and your passengers, injury to other people, and damage to other vehicles and property, each up to the limits set out in the policy. The cap only falls away if the rental agreement is broken - prohibited use, alcohol or drugs, or a driver who is not listed.

The renter is responsible for damage to the rented vehicle up to 40,000 THB per incident, regardless of who is at fault. Any cost above 40,000 THB is covered by Samui Motors. This cap does not apply when the damage follows a breach of the rental agreement - prohibited use, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or an unlisted driver - in which case the renter is fully liable.

Contact Samui Motors immediately. After an accident, also notify the police and obtain a report, and do not admit liability to third parties. Please do not attempt repairs without authorisation. A replacement is arranged when possible; otherwise unused rental days are refunded according to the written terms.

The standard Jeep security deposit is 10,000 THB in cash, or a passport. It is held for the rental period and returned after the joint return inspection, less any damage, traffic fines or outstanding charges. The Yamaha experience does not require a deposit.

The rental fee is payable in full before handover. Cancellation is free up to 48 hours before the agreed pickup time, and there is no refund for a later cancellation or a no-show.

At the agreed time and place, in the same condition, with fuel at the renter's cost. A late return of more than one hour is charged as an extra day, and a vehicle returned excessively dirty carries a 500 THB cleaning fee. Traffic fines from the rental period remain the renter's responsibility.

No. The vehicles stay on Koh Samui and may not leave the island without written consent. They are GPS-tracked, and taking one off the island without consent is reported as theft.

Most customers collect and return the vehicle at the Samui Motors office in Bangrak. Delivery and collection anywhere else on Koh Samui can be arranged on request for a fee, normally between 09:00 and 18:00, Monday to Saturday - ask when you enquire and Samui Motors will confirm the cost along with your dates.
